How It Works

The application works by constantly recording your GPS coordinates whilst you ride. You can choose to view and hear updates throughout the duration of your exercise activity. Once you have completed your work out you simply post your results via your internet enabled iphone to cycletarget.com where you are able to examine your results, and compare with friends at a later date.



Choose Your Activity:

  • The settings screen is the place to enter account information and set up the CycleTarget application options
  • On first use of CycleTarget you will enter your a valid email address and password which will set up an account for you at cycletarget.com. Once set up with an account you can use the settings page to customise your experience.
  • Account: Set up your account with valid email address and password
  • Target Pace: Set a pace speed to race against (free ride only)
  • Sound: Activate in ride voice feedback and set frequency
  • Graph Axis: Set up graph screen and position where data is drawn
  • Personal Data: Enter weight for more accurate calorie reading



  • Initially when choosing Free Ride you will want to set your target speed in the settings page, your target pace becomes a virtual pace-maker allowing you to challenge yourself and aim for a KPH or MPH of your choice.
  • Upon commencement of your ride, this screen is your main source of information. By default your current position is shown at the top of the screen. A positive number (eg +250) represents how far ahead you are, whilst a negative number (eg -250) how far behind. When cycling in Re-Ride or VS Challenge mode distance remaining is also available. Total distance, pace and speed are represented for both your target (left side) and yourself (right side) in figures and easy to glance graphics. Whilst the bottom of the screen presents a graphical representation of your position (orange dot) relative to the target (crosshair).
  • During your ride swipe right to enter Ride Map Screen. CycleTarget uses Google Maps to give you your location during a Free Ride. Street name & suburb are displayed if that information is available.Your target is displayed as a "crosshair" graphic and you are represented by an orange dot giving you an accurate indication of how far in front or behind you are from your target.The bottom of the screen gives a graphical representation of your position (orange dot) relative to the target (crosshair).
  • During your ride swipe left to enter Ride Graph Screen. The Graph Screen gives you the ability to analyse your ride and displays speed an altitude.The bottom of the screen gives a graphical representation of your position (orange dot) relative to the target (crosshair).
  • Double tap the ride screen when finished in Free Ride mode or complete the required distance in VS/ReRide mode and you will be greeted with your save options. Swipe your finger left across the screen to finish the ride and save to your account at CycleTarget.com. Swipe your finger right across the screen to finish the ride without saving. Double tap the screen to return to the ride.



  • CycleTarget will store your most recent rides for you to ride against. Click the Personal Best Tab to ride against your best time on any of the rides stored or the Last Ride Tab to ride against you most recent time on that route. Ride statistics are displayed and updated for all rides.

  • Once target distance has been achieved you will be greeted with win/lose screen. Here you can view your ride stats and see exactly how far you won or lost by. Swipe your finger left to discard the ride or swipe your finger right to save. Your ride will be instantly available for you to ride against next time and can also be viewed in your CycleTarget.com account.
  • Double tap the ride screen when finished in Free Ride mode or complete the required distance in VS/ReRide mode and you will be greeted with your save options. Swipe your finger left across the screen to finish the ride and save to your account at CycleTarget.com. Swipe your finger right across the screen to finish the ride without saving. Double tap the screen to return to the ride.



  • VS Challenge gives you the option to challenge your friends that you have registered on CycleTarget.com. Log into the CycleTarget website and "tag" the rides you want to compete against (Maximum of 10 rides can be tagged at any time). Once tagged the CycleTarget app will download your chosen VS challenge track ready for you to compete against.

Swipe your finger left across the screen to finish the ride and save to your account at CycleTarget.com (if enabled your friend will receive an email to inform them of your ride). Swipe your finger right across the screen to finish the ride without saving.
  • Double tap the ride screen when finished in Free Ride mode or complete the required distance in VS/ReRide mode and you will be greeted with your save options.
